{"id":42,"date":"2004-07-03T02:12:27","date_gmt":"2004-07-03T06:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xanga.nertzy.com\/index.php\/2004\/07\/03\/"},"modified":"2020-08-08T23:28:38","modified_gmt":"2020-08-08T23:28:38","slug":"42","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xanga.nertzy.com\/index.php\/2004\/07\/03\/42\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I told myself I would never stoop to such a level as having a website I didn&#8217;t code myself.&nbsp; But then I succumbed.<\/p>\n<p>Dan told me that in order to have a good blog I can&#8217;t just talk about<br \/>\nwhat I&#8217;ve been up to.&nbsp; I need to talk about the ideas I&#8217;m having<br \/>\nand try to make my blog something worth reading.&nbsp; Challenge<br \/>\naccepted.<\/p>\n<p>My first big idea:&nbsp; I&#8217;ve tried to eliminate my usage of<br \/>\nexclamation points recently.&nbsp; I realized that if what I&#8217;m saying<br \/>\nneeds an exclamation point in order to get its point across, I haven&#8217;t<br \/>\nwritten it effectively.&nbsp; I often catch myself putting exclamation<br \/>\npoints on every other sentence of emails I write, especially the CORe<br \/>\nDigest.&nbsp; I might leave them in for the CORe Digest since I&#8217;m not<br \/>\nexactly going to take the trouble to strip them out by hand from what<br \/>\npeople send me.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not from Olin you probably don&#8217;t care one bit about the CORe<br \/>\nDigest.&nbsp; For the curious, I put out a weekly email newsletter to<br \/>\nthe campus as part of my role on the student government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I told myself I would never stoop to such a level as having a website I didn&#8217;t code myself.&nbsp; But then I succumbed.
